Static Calculation

Statics is the branch of mechanics concerned with the analysis of loads (force, torque/moment) on physical systems in static equilibrium, that is, in a state where the relative positions of subsystems do not vary over time, or where components and structures are at a constant velocity. (wikipedia)

Woodworkers mostly need simple static calculations for girders and columns. Most woodworkers use huge dimensions just to be on save side, because they don't know how to calculate the correct dimensions for simple constructions. This is a waste of material, money and doesn't look very good.

On this page you will be able to do these calculations without any technical knowledge.

Here you find the basic Knowledge you need for filling out the forms. Maybe some of these explanations a a little bit simplified, but tehy are still accurate enough to do these calculations correctly. If you have ammendments or corrections, feel free to contact me.
